Droy
Hello, have finally acquired a pair of Heresy II’s after a long search. They sound awesome as expected, except at very low bass frequencies there is very noticeable distortion. For example, a loud orchestral climax with a strong timpani hit and both speakers noticeably distort. To the point I have to turn the bass down. Externally the woofers look fine. Can anyone provide help? thanks
Marvel
What recording are you playing? If I have it I'll crank it up and see if I get the same.
HiFi Heaven
You might be clipping your amplifier. +6dB bass boost requires 4 TIMES the power! Get a sub.
OO1
Heresy speakers are not designed for bass but rather for vocals , clarity and detail -the bass level is too high or you are using a low wattage amplifier which is distorting heavily , the solution is to lower the bass control or get a more powerful amplifier .
