POWER CORD?

I'm not sure I can express my self well enough to be under stood but here goes.

The signal you hear coming out of an amplifier is not the input signal made larger or

more powerful. You are hearing the power supply. The output transformer or transistor

is connected in series with the power supply this signal is what operates the speakers.

The input signal controls the output through the power tube or transistor but the electricity

comes from the power supply.

Picture a man standing under a tank of water with a pipe attached to the bottom of the tank

He opens and closes a valve (very quickly) in the pipe. The tank is the power supply.

The water coming out of the pipe the output to the speaker, and the man (or woman) is

the input signal controlling the output.

That's why the power supply is so important, what comes out of the supply goes into the

signal going to the speaker.
