I'm starting to get an itch... I have got a couple of questions about Khorns

1) How easy is it to seperate and reassemble the mid/tweeter section from the bass bin ?

2) Can you use a cushioned hand truck to roll them in and out of buildings w/o damage ?

3) Can they lay on their front or "sides" on moving blankets or remain upright during transport ?

4) Approximately what do the seperate sections wiegh?

5) You can see where this is going so how hard are they to move?2.gif

Bkrop,

To answer your questions...

1.Very easy-just 2 wingnuts to unscrew per speaker and the top mid/tweeter come detached. If you wanna take off the bass side grills there are 2 more wingnuts per side to unscrew.

2.I wouldn't for fear of damage-just get a friend (a strong one if possible) to help with the move.

3.You can lie them on the fronts but I wouldn't lie them on their sides/rear for fear of tipping over.

4.I would guesstimate about 50-60 pounds for the tops with the remaining 110 pounds or so for the bass section.

5.Really not as bad as it looks/sounds-like I said just disconnect the tops from the bass section, remove the side grills, and move each one seperately and you'll be ok.

One more thing...

When I moved mine I used 2 airbeds in my Dodge Grand Caravan-one full size and one twin.I inflated them about half way and made it back to Massachusetts (from Virginia) without some much a scratch.

Good luck with the purchase,

Jeff

Jeff is right, it is a 2 man job mainly for the size of the bass bin.

I have moved mine several times. Mine are C models and like jeff, they are held together with 2 wing nuts. The top unit has 2 support pieces inside that can be used nicely for handles.

I also laid my bass bin on its front on top of a series of blankets.

If you are in a pickup or open to the air, I would also recomend putting some foam or someting to keep the air from blowing into the horns.

Good luck in your Khorn search.

JM
