agentdaffy007
Hi, I have this constant hiss when the speakers are not playing anything and my computer is turned off. When i play a mp3, at low volume, i can hear the hiss. I bought an EMI/RFI filter and it doesn't seem to work. What to do? *snif* *snif* -Mike
Chan
Try doing what i always do when my speakers hiss, use cotton swabs dipped with rubbing alcohol to clean the stereo plugs on the backs of the speakers and see if there is any hiss again. MD1032
It's a connection problem, I believe. Also, check your soundcard's connections and its settings.
agentdaffy007
I am still waiting for my Monster Cable to come to see if it helps! I will try to get my discman from my girlfriend back and use the input plug to see if i get any hiss. Chan: I did try cleaning using alcohol. Didn't work at all, well maybe just a little but not much. -Mike
agentdaffy007
The hiss happens after 5 minutes of usage! I unplugged them for the whole day and at night when i am back home, i plug them in and start playing some mp3s, the hiss starts after 5-7 minutes of usage. -Mike

noobzilla
Do you have your wires clumped up? I used to have mine bunched together in a big ball. My speakers always seemed to be a bit hissy. When I spread the wires out, most of the hissing went away.
agentdaffy007
Hi, Yes my wires are bunched up. Well all of them anyways, i got so many... You sure it makes a difference? Will a Monster Cable upgrade make a difference? -Mike
