lynnm
I wonder if this sounds as good at it looks. Hopefully not because someone obviously spent a lot of money to build that monstrosity !

Marvel
Why is it a monstrosity? The tractrix horn on top is made of glued up pieces, and turned on a lathe he built himself. It's basically an Edgar design. It uses a 2 inch compression driver. The mid bass uses a tractrix flare as well, and has an EV 12L driver, with a response from 140Hz to 700Hz. He uses a homemade KHorn bassbin for the lows. Is it the color that bothers you? Doesn't look any worse than some huge Oris horn, and probably sounds better. Rob P
Monstrosity (?) I don't think so. This sort of three-way "stack" has been around for quite a while... apparently pioneered by Dr. Bruce Edgar. The mid tractrix horns started out with JBL LE-5's then folks "moved up" to Dynaudio D-54's. Now, those with the bucks have gone to TAD drivers (2001's and 4001's as I recall). Tweeters have been varied, but - while I have never heard one of these rigs - every report has been glowing (or was that the toobz driveing 'em?). All the best, Rob Hurst, Texas Klispschons & tubes... 'tis glorious
