Clipped and Shorn
Man, you could have that treasure for the price of 6 or 7 cool LPs. Its a no brainer! I'll bet you don't see those on eBay very often. c&s
Daddy Dee
IMPRESSIVE... bringing several times it's original price and in drive every day condition. How does it get all that power out of these tubes???? There are 4 x Telefunken 6DJ8, 4 x Telefunken 12AX7, 2 x McIntosh by RCA 6CG7, and 2 x RCA 6BL7GTA

Tom Mobley
those are the input stage tubes, the output stage consists of 8-6LQ6/6JE6B tubes. these are the ones with the lead coming off the top in the pics. Tom
jnorv
A friend of mine picked up a AR D200 to drive his Acustats. Sounded great until he figured it was about $1/hour in tube cost. Traded them in for a pair of Adcom 555s. It would appear to me that the magic of tubes (if there is any) would disappear with multiple output tubes. If you go PP and high out put, how is that nay different than SS. I think the real beauty of tubes is having one and only one doing all of the work. No crossover distortion. And you get to audition each tube to see if you like it's characteristics. Jim N
Guy Landau
I don't mind paying $1/hour for pure enjoyment.
jnorv
I think that was 1975 dollars. I will admit that I have started listening to my 300B more. It does sound better than my back up digital amps. Reminds me of my favorite RV bumber sticker:' We are out squandering our children's inheritance". Guy Landau
If I were looking for a high power tube amp, I would have chosen this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3065011005&category=3280&rd=1 .
