Get an RCA cable and hook it to the white and red on the back of the television, the other two red and white RCA's go to the back of the DD5.1. GooseChaser Posted December 16, 2003 Share Posted December 16, 2003 Cable is not encoded in six channel (5.1) sound, it's in stereo and the DD5.1 will receive stereo. ljcesar Posted January 4, 2004 Share Posted January 4, 2004 if you have digital cable you can enjoy Dolby Digital 5.1 on some channels that are encoded with it, all you need to do is hook up an optical cable from the optical out on the digital set top box to your DD-5.1, most digital cable boxes also have a SPDIF coax out too so you could also use this.
