SA CD decoding posssible via DD5.1?

No, I believe only an SACD players is capable of decoding that signal...highly proprietary from what I've heard. I think you're stuck using the analog outs on that player straight to your speakers. To get true 5 channel audio without enabling Pro Logic, the DD-5.1 needs a DD/DTS encoded signal.

How are you connecting the SACD player to the DD-51 btw? What Pioneer model do you have?

All SACD players have built-in decoding for 5.1. There are a very small number of processors that can handle SACD (I only know of 1). SACD decoding requires complex hardware verification and detection of couterfiet devices.

And no the DD-5.1 doesn't handle it.
