XanderF
Hmmmm....how do these compare in size to the GMX 5.1 sub? As I mentioned above, thinking about it.... Really don't have room to place one NEXT to it, but I could stack them maybe....
327
I hope that this sale is good for another 2 weeks or so. I will definitely buy one. Klipsch rocks
MastaK
I got my 2 SWS today and I LOVE EM!!! Even 2 SWS are too much for me. They hurt my ears with lil up on the level control.
PinchyCM
how do you have your two sws set up?

I need to rearrange my room this weekend so that I can put them in the corner. Maybe I should order a few more for downstairs.
PinchyCM
i'll have the sws sub stacked on top of my ultra sub.
327
I have onboard sound on the Nforce2 chipset (Shuttle AN35N) I listen to mp3's more than I play games, do you guys think I should grab one of those OEM TB Santa Cruz cards? I'm going to have an SWS sub with 4.1 Klipsch.
PinchyCM
that would be better than onboard for sure. why not try getting an audigy 2? you can get them retail for dirt cheap if you can still find them at best buys or office depots. if not, get an audigy 2zs. zipzoomfly.com has them for 87 bucks, free 2nd day shipping
Point Blank
So guys... Do any of you notice any degradation from your main speakers by plugging them into the back of the SWS and then plugging the SWS into your soundcard? I heard some people had problems with that... I think SWS's would be better than a home theater solution for me at this point. I took back my sony sub finally today. Might use the money to re-purchase a "better" solution. My dorm room at college is pretty small though...
PinchyCM
there shouldn't be.
327
I hear that the santa cruz is better than the audigy for music and such. Plus I'm sure I can get a cruz for cheap on Anandtech or something. And I hear that the drivers for those SB cards are full of crap that most people will never use.
seafarer
I have a S/B Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum sound card and it works great no problems what so ever. I listen to DVD Audio Disks, CD Disks and play games everything sounds great with no hiss or distortion on my Klipsch Ultra 5.1 system. 007
Audigy sounds better because its 24bit, however the software for the cruz is much better and the virtual5.1 is much much better then the audigy and audigy2 cmss crap. I got the a2 and after about 2 months of use, put my cruz back in. I really want to get a revo at this point, except im not sure how the software works. One thing that really bugged me about the a2 is the SLOWNESS of the software. HEll i would double click on the control panel and 4 seconds later it would open up. This is xp2400, good lord thats outrageous!
327
thanks for the input guys. The onboard will have to do for a while.
007
Krillian Hex, do a 3 woofer pyramid opposed to just stacking them
Krillian Hex
I know, i was considering doing that....in fact, im gonna try it later....but for now, ive been disturbing the neighbors with my wall shattering sound. Also, ive been looking to get some HQ cables for the sub, but havent got around to doing it. Any one knows where i can get like 2-3ft subwoofer cable? I dont like Crutchfield or bestbuy that much, their prices are somewhat high.
007
I dono, but let me know, cuz im about ready to upgrade all my input/output cables too.
Sledge
Hey, 007. Had to drop by and give you props because I'm 99% certain you're the impetus behind this sale . I will be picking up a SWS in the next couple days to keep my Ultras company .

Krillian Hex
I hope the sale stays because i dont think the subs are worth more than $150.
