Istari
I know that dampening the cast metal horns has been covered quite a bit but trying to find it using the search function is, well, difficult. I have a pair of Cornwalls(circa 1980), and have purchased a couple of packages of moretite (I remember that much) that I want to apply to the mid horns this evening. How many layers of Moretite should I apply to the K-600?, and should it be for the entire length of the horn?, should the rope caulk be applied around the horn or down its length? What's the experience of those that have done this, if you would please. Thanks!!!
JohnA
All over the back side of the horn. 2 layers should be enough.
Istari
Thanks John! Do you have your mids treated this way??? I noticed in your sig that you have two of the VMPS Larger Subwoofers. Are two necessary to keep up with the La Scalas? From what I remember, they have a 12" and a 15" active and a 15" passive, output from one is rated at 115 or 120 db isn't it? STL
Istari, So is moretite really any better than using rope caulk? BTW, do us all a favor and take out all the needless blank lines in your sig. Thanks...
