ygmn
PIc does not work so I am confused on the question The rear center should be mounted at same elevation as rear surrounds...and in the center in line with front center as close as possible.... HTH?

T_Shomaker
I think it is either surround back left or right and then you set it up in the menu
Basshole
From the looks of it you should run 7.1 you would use your surround back
Griffinator
Most 7.1 amps can be reconfigured to 6.1 in the menu system. Typically you wire the single surround back cross-posted - the hot lead from one of the two and the ground from the other. Don't do that until you verify it in your receiver's manual. The last thing I need is a forum member hating me for the rest of my life because he blew up his receiver following my suggestion!
gcoker
The Denon 2803 is a 7.1 receiver which has two rear surround speakers labled surround back with left and right. I am not sure which one to connect if you only want one rear center (left. right, or both) but you owners manual should say. Good Luck
ukaussi
According to your manual on P12 it says use SURR BACK L CH http://www.usa.denon.com/catalog/pdfs/avr2803%20DFU.pdf My Yamaha also says the same
SteelerFan
In most of the manuals I've read it calls for hooking up a single rear surround to the back left speaker post. Then you select one back surround in the menu.
TIbor
I was planning on using a rc-3 II for the rear center is this a good choice, and if I run 6.1 on this reciever instead of 7.1 is the rear center I use actually a rear center signal or is it a matrixed back surrond. Thanks for the info.
ukaussi
I am also new to 6.1 & 7.1 but I believe that the term you should look for is "discrete" channels meaning they all have there own unique channel. Check out the AVS forum www.avsforum.com for more info on which 6.1 are truely 6 discrete channels and not just matrixed rear surround to fill-in the sound I have a couple of DVD that I need to rewatch now that I have a 6.1/7.1 receiver and those have Dolby Digital DTS-ES which IS 6 discrete channels.
