JBP
I am going to be setting up a 7.1 HT using RF-7's and RC-7 for the front. I am trying to decide which speakers to use for the surround channels. The salesman I spoke with recommened using RS-7's for the Surround R/L and either RB-75's or RB-35's for Surround Back R/L. His reasoning was that the back surround channels tend to be more detailed so direct firing speakers perform better than dispersion speakers. I was hoping to get some feedback. Agree or disagree with the explanation? Any other suggestions or opinions?
Frzninvt
I would concur with that, I use large speakers at all positions in my 7.2 setup. The level of detail is truly stunning. I think the setup you described would sound awesome!
yromj
I would agree w/ what your salesman said w/ one possible exception. If you're planning on listening to multichannel music, you may want to consider the bookshelves for all four surrounds. You definitely want the bookshelves for the 6th and 7th speakers though. BTW, that will be one sweet setup! John
