jorjen
This is my first attempt at posting pics, so I thought I would use my Cornwall project as a Guinea Pig. These Corns started out as beat up 1981 COL with cane grilles. They are getting new ALK(built by me)networks with Solen inductors, Mills resistors and AudioCap PPT Thetas in place of Solens in the squawker and tweeter circuits. New cabinet damping material, new internal wiring. I painted the interior of the cabinets as well so you cannot see raw wood through the ports with the grilles off. All black surfaces have been sanded, filled and repainted. I even carefully sliced off the tags on the back, which were scratched, torn, etc. scanned them into my PC, restored them to better than new condition, reprinted them on same size sticky back paper and reapplied them(pics to follow on this). Kept the originals of course. Anyway, these are going to be much better than new. Oh, new grilles too, using OEM from Klipsch.
dbflash
Jordan, Your speakers look GREAT! What color did they start out and what did you do to get them that color. Mine are Walnut, but I like lighter colors. Again Good job. You should be very proud. Danny
T2K
You should get some white speakers Danny and sell the Cornwalls to me. I like those dark finishes! Keith
dbflash
Just what you need is another pair of speakers. I am going to try oiling my speakers in the next couple of weeks. You may not want them when I am done.
jorjen
DBFlash, They started out as beat up 1981 Laquered Oak Corns with cane grilles. Too beat up to just sand and reshoot. It is a shame how some people take care of things. They will have a Satin Tung Oil finish with Klipsch OEM brown grilles(to bring out the brown grain in the Cherry)when they are finished. More pictures to follow.

michael hurd
Jorjen, very nice work indeed! Restore and rebuild, not part out and scrap!
Al Klappenberger
Jordan, Nice job on the netwroks. That's the first time I have seen the T2A transformers used. The pinout on it seems to be fairly compatable with the layout. Do you plan to make the mod I proposed to the woofer crossover section? If you do, I'd like to know if it makes any audable difference. jorjen
Mr. Klappenberger, I had the T2A's and hated to waste them. And, I do like using them as all the taps are on the front/one side. I do plan on making the woofer circuit change in the network, but I will probably not get to it for awhile. I want to get everything else finished and make the change last, just before I am ready to install them. Also, I am getting ready to build a set of your networks for my '67 Khorns. I am going to absolutely dazzle you with this project, I have got GREAT plans for this set of networks. I will use new #3619's from Universal in these as I want to leave the stock "A"'s as they are. Al Klappenberger
Jordan, Ok.. You should run the networks with the original woofer filter design for a while before you make the change. You can get an idea of the difference that way. I'm curious. BTW: I am looking into supplying type "A" network parts kits. When the time comes to do the other set check my web site to see if I decided to do it. Al K.
jorjen
Colin, More pics as soon as I make more progress. Michael, I agree 100%. Cannot see myself parting stuff out. Besides, restoration is a heck of alot of fun.
