HornPenguin
Does anybody know anything about this Dual turntable? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3283&item=3091775487&rd=1 How would it compare to a Music Hall MMF 5, or Rega 2 or 3? I'm looking to purchase a turntable and am willing to spend $300 - $400 but would prefer to spend less if I can get the same sound quality from a cheaper table, like an older Dual or the one above. NOSValves
I'd go Music Hall or similar before I spent to much on a used table like that ! Used tables can be a real hassle I have like 6 of them. Craig
Timmikid
Actually this is supposed to be a new TT, nevertheless I agree with Craig this one is not the way to go. Actually the only TT's by Dual I would consider a good buy are the 701 and ... was it the 1021? Let me get back at this. Tim.
HornPenguin
I guess with the resonable prices of the used Rega's and Music Hall's, that would be the way to go. I'll keep and eye and ear open and may purchase in the near future. If I purchase a used table with arm and cartridge, is there a reliable way to determine if the cartridge is good or how much life is left on it? lynnm
In a word NO ! Probably a decent enough consumer grade TT but nothing more. Buy something really good and you will really enjoy your vinyl. There are bargains to be had in vintage TTs and the Music Hall units are damned good and reasonably priced if you prefer new.
