popbumper
Let me explain... In the case where people are setting up their systems with center speakers that are NOT built as centers (like Heritage stuff - Heresy's, Forte's, etc.), HOW are you shielding the standard "unshielded" speaker so that it does not affect the TV? I realize that this is not a problem when the speaker is behind a screen in a high-level setup, but, if and when you are using the speaker as a center for an RPTV, how is this done (I assume also the speaker is mounted either ABOVE or BELOW the set). Comments, please, pics if possible. I want to go this route which is why I am asking. Thanks! Popbumper
Audible Nectar
ALNICO My center speakers (Cornwalls) are '68 vintage, which use alnico magnets that do not affect the TV picture. The woofers (not alnico) are far enough away that they do not cause a problem. If one is fortunate enough to have alnico woofers too, the issue is that much easier to deal with. Others use bucking magnets to help with magnetic shielding problems.
cyclonecj
On a RPTV, the guns are in the bottom of the cabinet. With the speaker on top of the set, there is no problem. I have a custom Heresy on top of a 61" RPTV. You can see my setup HERE
