neo33
Not until Amy/Trey/Klipsch(?) change it back to the old way.
ben.
OK, I hope you enjoy your Fortes with no power amp.
Parrot
Okay then, I guess it's resolved. A 40W amp, provided it was designed well and is implemented well, is better than a low-powered SET amp in every way, unless you like to listen to the nuances of Diana Krall at 1/1000 of a watt. Parrot
I expect playground-like taunts from someone who has no understanding of high fidelity.
Allan Songer
But he DOES understand Joe Henderson and that is FAR more rewarding!
Parrot
Think how much better Henderson would sound on *real* amps. You don't waste your time on low-power SET, as I recall.
Allan Songer
The real waste of time is all these pointless arguing over SET vs. PP. You're right--I prefer PP. But I don't get off on making sure everyone within earshot knows about it. Why is this so damn important to you?
Parrot
I have nothing against low-powered SET under very limited circumstances. The limitations of a couple watt amp are such that few real-world people would be satisfied with one, however. This is the section of the forum in which people discuss amps. Somebody needs to warn newbies that SET is not magical and counter all of the over the top claims.
Moderators Amy Posted May 26, 2004 Moderators Share Posted May 26, 2004 This is the second time I've had to step into this post, so it is gone. Please refrain from the personal insults and tauntings. Thanks
