Real Release date

Why is it that no one in any industry that has anything to do with computers can just be straight up. First these speakers were mid to late June. Then July 1, and now we've pushed the date to the 15th; which again is a lie because it is now the 16th adn we don't have speakers yet. I'd rather they tell me they won't be arround until Christmas and then surprise me by having them done early. Waiting like this is garbage, unacceptable business practice if you ask me. Great speakers, bad p/r.

Actually, mid-late June was never officially announced by Klipsch, and July 1st was an error on our webpage that was only up for a few days and caught and changed quickly. Unfortunately, word spread quite rapidly, which is a chance any company takes that has the confidence to maintain a bulletin board!

Early to Mid-July has really been our official position all along. We've tried to guess exactly, but we have had to make some last minute THX enhancements, and are now waiting on US customs, so an exact date is not possible at this time. Some things are beyond our control, and I apologize for the miscommunications (some cases initiated by rumors!)...

I will post an exact date (as will our webmaster) when we are 100% able to do so with no chance of change.

Thanks for your patience, and I'm very confident that it will all be worth it!!

I understand the customs are beyond your control, but you did know that it would be part of the process and thus should have been accounted for. As for my release dates i refer you to teh press release. If you don't feel like reading, here's a quote:

Reasonably priced ($399.99 U.S. MSRP) the ProMedia 5.1 will be available for purchase at specialty audio stores, and on the klipsch.com web site in mid to late June 2001.

Mid to late June. That is what we've been expecting since May.

Actually its very good PR, look how much interest these speakers are generating.

And every little delay is causing a tonne more posts.

You're obviously very eager to see them released too. I just hope they don't sell out within 12hrs of release.Smile.gif

Porno pete, no i wouldn't like a half assed product. I would like them/everybody to be more reasonable with release dates. When do you ever see something come out early? Never, i just want my speakers and i'm sick of waiting and being disappointed when i read about them getting released late.

I apologize for the way i'm acting. It's not really fair, i don't mean to attack amy or klipsch or anyone for that matter. I'm just anxious to get some speakers and i just hate waiting. Amy, that quote is from the origiona; press release that is found in your news section.

Amy,

Why are you waiting on US Customs? The press releases say that Klipsch has manufacturing facilities in AK and CA. So unless you guys recently set up a sweatshop in Bolivia to build 5.1s (in which case don't expect me to buy them, because sweatshop labor is not known for its quality), there shouldn't be any customs delays for US sales. Sounds like something fishy is going on here....

The Promedias are manufactured in China...all our other speakers products are made in Arkansas. We have a warehouse in California, where they also do some manufacturing.

U.S. customs's suck. I travel to canada a lot, when going in they're like "Are you doing anything illegal" but when i come back they get out the drug dogs and anal cavity searchers. How long does it normally take for shipments to get through customs? When did the speakers hit our shores?

I blame this entire delay on George Bush! Smile.gif

If he hadn't been such a Jacka** with that whole spy plane incident China wouldn't be so dificult at customs.

HeHe. Just a little propaganda for my speaker buddies. Smile.gif
