edwinr
My JoLida JD202A Integrated Tube amp. This is the core of my current system. Recently retubed with Svetlana EL34 tubes with about 50 hours burn in, it is showing signs of being a fine, low cost match with the Klipschorns. edwinr
Okay, this one should be right. Edit: Sorry no go on this one either. But enjoy the picture above. It's a great amp and quite well put together for a Chinese amp. Although final assembly is done in the States. Sound overall is very good, particularly in the midrange. As you hit the frequency extremes the bass tends to soften a little and the treble region is a little curtailed. The Jolida has plenty of drive though - rated around 50 watts per channel. But I reckon this would be with a wet sail. 18 to 20 watts continuous is more likely. I have never had my amp past the 12 o'clock mark - it's just too loud. Soundthought
Edwin- I too, run a Jolida 202a with my Klipschorns. I've got my Svet EL34s in with roughly the same hours on them. And like you.....I find absolutely no reason to turn it up past half way. It's just too darn loud. Enjoy. Regards, John.
jt1stcav
My brother's first tube amp was a JoLida JD202A, and it was my first introduction to tube sound when he let me borrow it briefly to power my Cornwalls...I've been sold ever since! edwinr
Thanks guys for your comments. I have to whole-heartedly recommend this amp to anyone starting out with tubes. Just as it was recommended to me by a friend when I was confused about the whole tube issue.
