Moderators dtel Posted July 20, 2004 Moderators Share Posted July 20, 2004 This is may not be the correct place to ask, but. Wanted to get grandkids a playstation 2 for their birthday age 3 & 4. I was told playstation 2 has the most games for that age group, but was also told it was going to be discontinued for ps 3 is this true .thanks
damonrpayne
Hmm, I'm not super up to date on consoles, but I always thought Ninetendo was more geared towards younger kids? I know the PS2 does certainly have a lot of games though.

Juba310
Get an NES or SNES or sega Genesis on ebay. Those have the best games for young kids, and the controlls are a lot simpler. Plus they're too young to care about haveing the "hottest" system. You can probably get a system with the works and tons of games for less than what ONE new game for a new system would cost. When i was 3 I loved playing the mario brothers. I don't think thats changed.
hooting_monkey
Yeah, I don't think they even make games for that age group anymore. Old RPGs and stuff like Zombies ate my neighbors are simpler than playing any platformer or infact putting the disc in. Old games are the best! Guest Damen Bonner
Kids love Disney Movies, so for that reason I would look at the PS2, that gives them the option of being able to play games or watch DVD's. If the Grandkids have a DVD player already, get the PSONE, you can get that for $50.00 brand new.
