picky
It will be available on December 14, 2004 (Platinum Special Extended Edition) and available on Amazon as a PRE-order now for $23.99. It runs 250 minutes, as if 3-1/2 hours wasn't long enough! Sheesh!
damonrpayne
I cannot wait. I think I'll take that day off work! If you want spoilers as to what some of the extra content is, check out http://www.theonering.net/, they have some interviews with New Line cinema people talking about the EE. Omega3002
I'm sure its going to be great but I'd really rather have an HD version. By the middle of next year that might be a possibility. But due to the stubborness and greediness of corporate leaders this format war has turned into the ugliest I've ever seen.
Marshal
Better to just go ahead and get this upcoming DVD. P Jackson will be too busy working on King Kong and then the DVD for that to get around to any kind of Hi-Def DVD for a few more years. And then there's the HD vs Blu-ray war to have to sit through. damonrpayne
Could we even wring HD out of it? Was it filmed in a format capable of giving us more than 480p? I recently read an interview where the producer of a show mentioned they had to get all new cameras to allow their show to be HD on cable...
