oscarsear Posted November 18, 2004 Share Posted November 18, 2004 I agree you can hide the gear and keep it out of harms way by locating it in a nearby enclosed space. As such the rack needs to be functional, not particularly showy (or expensive). With a universal remote you can command all functions without having to see or have immediate access to your components. The only time you'll need to get to them would be to insert DVDs and the like. The rack is 72" H x 19" W x 20" D. Don't be fooled by their less than inspiring webpage, they make solid stuff (albeit somewhat pricey); they may not be the best to help "sonically" but asthetically I find them quite appealing (they are more modern - but tastes do differ). I got the unfinished oak trim, and stained it walnut to match my Fortes. Assembly takes about 15 minutes. When I bought mine about 8-10 months ago, you could get them from any of several online companies (www.racksandstands.com, www.standsandmounts.com) for about $330 with free shipping.
