How do you paste pictures INTO these posts?

Take a look at what I have in the dialog box for my post, by clicking "reply" (to my post with the pic in it) and then click "quote." You have to do that, because I can't epxlain it properly in a post -- some things like semicolons in the "quote" are actually HTML codes that don't appear, or appear differently, in the post itself!

If you look in the "quote" at what I put in, you'll see what I did -- You had:

<img src="http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/files/MVC-018S.JPG"> or something like that. All I did was replace everything immediately before the "img src" with only an opening angle bracket, and replace everything after the .jpg" with a closing angle bracket.

However, look precisely at what you see in my "quote" and replicate that, NOT what you see in the above paragraph in the post, as it may be slightly different.

Another tip: always, always, click on "Preview" before finalizing and submitting the post. That'll show you what the post will actually show. If it's not right in "preview," it won't be right in the post.

Oh, yes, I put in height=400 (exactly where and in the way you see it in the "quote") in order to reduce the pic size a little. That way, it doesn't spill off the page or screen to the right, and you don't have to scroll over to see the rest of it.

Hope this helps --

Larry

Hey Ooteedee, you have to upload the pictures first. All the pics you posted where you get the blank picture with the X were linked to a file on your computer. Nobody on the internet is linked to your computer so you must first get your picture up on the internet. To do this, you need to click the "attach file" button BEFORE writing your post (just above the quote and rich text buttons). After you upload the picture you can write your text.

If you want your uploaded picture to show up in your message (instead of forcing people to click a link), then you will need to use this code:

< img src="http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/files/%IMAGE.EXT%" >

(just make sure there is no space between the "<" and the "img")

%IMAGE.EXT% = the filename of the picture you just uploaded. ".EXT" is the file extension (like .gif or .jpg or .jpeg). After you upload a file, there will be a message above the text window in bold showing you the name of the file you just uploaded. The forum sometimes will change the name for various reasons so make sure you use the name the forum gives you. If you screw up, you can always go back and click the edit button and tweak the name until you get it right. (you can open the download button and open the picture and copy the link in the address bar...then put this address in the src="" section).

EDIT: Very good! I'll leave my previous note here, slightly edited:

You can probably see it on your computer, but we can't. Thoroughly read DrWho's post above, where he talked about this (as did I, FWIW). Then, click "edit post" for your second one, and compare with one of those above that successfully shows a pic -- in those, you click "reply" and then "quote" to see what Q-man and I did.

You'll see that the successful pics are sourced from the Klipsch server, not individual computers. The pic has to be uploaded there first. Klipsch server files start out as "http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb/files/...." Then, do it exactly like what you see in the successful ones above, without spaces and height instructions between the opening bracket and the IMG SRC.
