uninstaller
Hi Just looking for a decent sub cable and have it narrowed down to one with a single core and one with a dual core. Is one better than the other? Klipsch RSW-15 Thanks
minn_male42
for a sub... buy the cheapest cable you can find that has good ends on it.... better yet - get some RG59 and some switchcraft RCA solder on connectors and make your own cable!!! uninstaller
ok, I think I'll go the cheapest I can find route. Is 24' too long for a subwoofer cable? It is 17' from receiver but I wanted room to move it around. Thanks for all the input

IAmtnbikr
For a slight bit more, I would maybe choose RG6 as it will give you a better conductor than the smaller gauge RG59. I use the RG6 for component cables as well and it works just fine. I do not have a high buck system and am not about to spend a fortune on cables as I really have doubts that handing someone a ton of money for cables will make a difference I can hear... or really need... After I replaced it with Quad and RCA compression fittings, it was a very noticable improvement.
uninstaller
Actually, that sounds pretty cheap and uncomplicated. Radio Shack will have the RCA compression fittings, right? Thanks again.
mikey j
Sorry for the slow reply... Take a look at ratshack.com for them as I'm not sure. Let us know how you made out. Also, don't forget to get a Y patch cable if you are going to use the L/R inputs on the sub...
uninstaller
Radioshack didn't have the compression RCAs. I also noticed that I would need a compression tool to terminate them. I went the easy way with a sub cable and the Y-adapter included. Sounds fine. Thanks again, all. This forum is great.
