Iceman
I have a Yamaha RXV-2300 that I just brought back from school. I had it set up in my dorm and had no problems with it. I just set it up in my home and I'm not getting any sound out of it. I've tried playing with everything, but I've had no luck. Do I need to bring it in for service?? Any ideas are appreciated.
travisc
stupid questions first. sorry. does it power up does the display come on? Are both a and b speakers on? Or do you have more than two speakers set up?
Iceman
Yes it powers on, both speaker sets are turned on, and the receiver functions completely normally, only without sound.

scriven
First check any and all fuses. They are never the problem but are the easiest thing to fix! Another common culprit is the tape monitor.

kelA
Is there a headphone jack on this unit? Have you tried headphones?
AudioVideoDallas
Yamahas have a preout that has to be looped back in to the pre in. There is a white line that connects the two to help identify it. give that a try. Keep in mind there is one for the l+r and then one for the center. wjaco
Perhaps it was unhooked long enough for the default inputs to reset themselves? In other words if you use coax for dvd and optical for CD (or whatever) and defaults are different you may have to go into the setup menu to reset them. Just a thought.
