Klipsch-daddy
Question? Is it necessary to have matching rear surrounds? Does it REALLY matter? Will you be able to tell a difference 2 different types of surrounds one being the model that matches your fronts and center, or the second being something else. DLUngurait
K-Daddy, While it is certainly ideal to have matching speakers all around...it is far less important to have your rear surrounds match your front soundstage. Dave
htxpert
Hi If you listen to Multi-Channel music or your receiver or preamp has 5 channel stereo then having matched rears is critical for good performance. As Directors and Sound Mixers are adding more and more information to the surround channels it also becomes more important, this trend will continue to grow. Steve Phillips
I agree with htxpert, but am happy with the way my KSP-S6s sound matched to my '77 K-Horns.Sound great in 6.1,and on DD&DTS concerts they blend well.Don't listen to 5 or 7 channel stereo, don't care for it with the main or bedroom HT. ------------------ Main HT:'77 Klipschorns w/ALKs, '75 Heresy center, modified with,K-Horn sqauwker & AA network. ShapeShifter
I too agree that matching surrounds makes the Multi-Channel music experience more enjoyable. I originally used Chorus II's as surrounds with my Cornwall Fronts. The Chorus' performed well as surrounds for HT. However, I found that I did not enjoy extended listening sessions when playing in 5 channel music mode. After adding a second pair of Cornwalls for surrounds and using my RS-3's for wide dispersion, I fully enjoy my multi-channel music listening. I'm now considering replacing the RS-3's with a pair of KSP-S6's that are being stored.
