dougdrake2 Posted September 14, 2001 Posted September 14, 2001 Hi All - I ran across a pair of Heresy HIP speakers today. They appear to be in a plywood cabinet, with a clear lacquer finish. Incredibly heavy, with a recessed handle embedded in the top. The mounting plate where the binding posts are has a fuse holder and is made of metal. There is a PWK logo molded into the metal rim of the mounting plate, on the top edge. The plate on them says the sensitivity is 92db. Anyone know anything about these - vintage, sound quality, market value? DD2 Quote
JohnA Posted September 14, 2001 Posted September 14, 2001 I believe the HIP is a ported Heresy I for the pro market. The ones I've seen look to have the same drivers as the HI, except for the woofer. I'll bet that 92 dB rating is at 10 feet, too. That would make it a few dB louder than a normal Heresy. John Quote
djk Posted September 15, 2001 Posted September 15, 2001 92dB/10 ft = 101.67db/1M The HIP was -5dB at 90hz. Quote
subegt Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 Old post new question. Is the Heresy HIP still 8ohms? I thought most pro equipment is 16ohms. And does the HIP have a terminal block or 1/4in. plug? I found a pair for 300obo. I thought they might work as a center pair with my LaScalas?? Quote
