mowntnbkr
I missed out on some belles a couple of weeks ago, and now am considering some Heresy's. They will be used for HT and of course a wide array of music. I guess the ? I am asking is are they a good choice to go with my Model 14's, 601 series III (will sell or put in workshop) and 301's. I like the model 14's but will replace the bose. Any input is appreciated. Sam
ironwoods
Either model of Heresy is going to have a different sound than the Bose. I'd use the Heresys as mains, and place the Bose in the rear. What center channel speaker do you have, as it is probably the most important thing to match with.
mowntnbkr
My setup as of now HK avr430, Altec lansing model 14's, Klipsch rc 3 II center, bose 601 series III, and bose 301 series III
Malcolm
I don't think there will be much difference between Heresy and Heresy II in this case. They sound a little different, but probably much more alike than either sounds compared to the Altec Model 14. If you are still thinking about getting large Klipsch Heritage speakers in the future, I suggest you choose whichever is the closest match to what you want ultimately for your front speakers. ironwoods
Unless you'd like to switch to a new center, the RB-3, RB-5II, RF-3II and RF-5 would all work.
rplace
FWIW, I have had Heresy and Heresy IIs. For a while I had them both. I did not do a very scientific A/B sort of switching test. But I did run them in the same room on the same equipment with the same material and to be honest with you I could not tell the difference. That is to say by the time I got the music stopped, swapped speakers and fired up the same song what ever difference there is was lost on my ears. You can still buy Belles, Khorns, and Heresy IIs new. If you thought you might in the future then I would go the HII route. If you thought you might get an older pair of khorns or Belles in the future I might lean toward the original Heresy.
