Stovebolt6
Colter, 5000 is an amazing number of posts. A little quick math... Just a little under 5 per day for 3 years. Thanks for hanging out and helping to make this forum what it is! By the way this is 100 for me in 3 years. Dan
colterphoto1
Thanks Dan, and please post a closeup photo of your very unique decorator Cornwalls. Is it my monitor or does the face veneer go horizontally and the mid/hi have a single grille over them? Way cool! Michael
jacksonbart
Congrats. Please don't forget the sky is blue.
Stovebolt6
Colter, They are Altec VOTTS with Cornwall / KHorn inspired cabinets. 511b horns damped with dynamat. 909a 16ohm compression drivers with the loading cap removed and felt installed. 515e 16" drivers in a corner style cabinet tuned to 40hz. Crossover is a 2nd order butterworth with part of ALKs constant impeadance design using the autoformer and swamping resistor. Its wired 180 out of phase to compensate for the different planes the drivers reside in. Cross is at 600hz which is where the phase timing is right. 104db 1W 1M. Wood is 5 layer with oak on the outside layers. I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without the help of the members of this board. Some knew they were helping others helped unwittingly. They started like this: Here are the crossovers: They ended up like this: I'm not the best wood worker in the world, but they sound unbelievable. Stovebolt6
My daughter took the last shot. Not bad for a 7 year old. I generally don't look that tired and grumpy either.
