DizRotus
You could be right. They do appear to be new. In any case, they work well. I doubt that anyone would view these as having collector value tied to authenticity.
texas42
While I wouldn't mind having it for some nostalgia, my wife (after looking at it) quickly vetoed it unless I wanted to 'store it in the attic or garage'... So I guess I will pass on this one.
TheEAR
Neil, Ah ha I knew so much, these have very large magnetic structures for thier size. The magnets are larger in diameter than the cone/piston. Quite a revelation for the price. My bad I did not look at teh bottom and inside, yes they are horns.Folded horns Often trasnsmission line towers will have a port like opening at the bottom. Deang
Nope, the woofers aren't right, and the vinyl is poo-poo, BUT -- you're only asking $25 for them! If the corners are good, that is -- not crushed or banged in, putting new vinyl on those would be cake. Original woofers are easy to track down, and usually go for $25 each. The electrolytics in the network are toast by now, and redoing the networks can be done with about $50 in parts. Redo the grills and you have a very nice looking and sounding set of speakers for less than $200.00.
