3dzapper
Mark L. Schifter at AVS123 is coming out with a new toy. He says that the technology is better than the "ice" solution. http://av123forum.com/showthread.php?s=89a10e1c93b22e1667fda32ad4672916&threadid=10683 Rick Did the picture post? fini
I have no clue what these are about, Rick. I feel like my head has been in a hole. I see they are introducing a headphone amp as well. What's the deal with them?
3dzapper
Sorry fini, I couldn't resist.[] AVS is a web based seller/manufacturer run by Mark Schifter. As you can tell by the active forum, he has many dedicated followers. I have never heard any of his products myself. Rick
Bill H.
His product looks interesting , and exciting for a small , low priced amp. Wish his site had more info/pics on the units themselves..................
TheEAR
WOW Mark "The greatest importator" S. has a new product from China to sell us,a real Krell killer. [<)]
Bill H.
Ear, So your smiling, and stating that this would now be worth looking into?
TheEAR
At $99,hell no I would probably buy them just for the heck of it,just to see...and hear what a $99 amp can do paired with efficient(Klipsch RF7's) and less efficient(Dyanudio Contour 3.3's) speakers. I wonder how much profit they make on them.
3dzapper
Mark says that the initial product run will be made in the States Ear. I doubt if he will make any money on those at $99. Once production is moved offshore, I'm sure he is looking for a profit. Rick
TheEAR
Rick,...not Mark(LOL my medication is strong..) Since you are here.I see from your sigs you and NOSvalves have the Juicy Music preamps. How do you compare your Juicy Music Blueberry Extreme with what you heard/used around the BE price? I am looking at this very preamp, the price is very low at $1799 if one has to trust the reviews so far. Any comments would be helpful Arthur
3dzapper
IMO the BBX is worth every penny You would no doubt need to invest twice the amount to find an equal at your audio dealer. That just represents the distributor and dealer mark-ups. Sonically, the price differential might be even greater. If you were closer Ear, I'd invite you over or visit you with it. Canada is a bit far. Rick
TheEAR
Rick, Thanks for the info.I will go for this preamp then,in its price range it is probably the one to beat. Also buying this...not as flashy as Shanling but a step up in quality. This will serve as my cheapo integrated,45W /channel of single ended power []. 3dzapper
Yes,Congratulations!!![<)][pi][^][D] I have been watching your exchange with Dr Jeff. Simple elegance has a beauty of it's own. Rick
TheEAR
Rick, I have reached a point where brute force amps are not what I am looking for.Since I began the long road to audio nirvana always looking for more refined and powerful solid state amps has led me to a near dead end. From the Celeste 4070SE to the Moon W5 to the Krell FPB600 I gained little quality besides plenty of power. Most of the time using maybe the first few good watts.Note the 4070SE is to this day a fantastic sounding solid state amp, worthy of driving the best speakers. Now I look for the amps with the best possible few watts. And tubes are where it is at.I keep you posted as these beauties arrive and post some pics too. ben.
I can't quite believe it myself... I just hope it isn't raining frogs in the morning.
3dzapper
Watch what you wish for Ben. With a strong updraft in Quebec, you live just about where they would come down. (To all my French amis in Quebec: It's a joke no offense meant. Both myself and my wife have links to Quebec. My paternal grandmother a Cady [French/Indian], and both of my wife's paternal grandparents, Lachapelle, Poussant.) Rick

ben.
Well, I imagine if it did rain frogs the freaks here would deep fry and toss 'em in hot sauce anyhow. Just add ice cold Black Horse ale, and there's a rare meal...
