Colin
Johnny, <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> how long have you been doing this? Are you trading stocks, options or futures? What kind of return can someone expect from such trading? Is there any study correlating the angle of an ascent with the odds of a correction (what goes up fast, must come down quicker)?
johnyholiday
Oil has obviously been on a tear for a couple of years, But the per-barrel price of crude is sky high although this article in Forbes helps put it in perspective: 11/01/oil-prices-1861-today-real-vs-nominal_flash.html
johnyholiday
In spite of this, the oil services sector (in this case, OIH) a head and shoulders pattern shaping up,a pattern in formation is not the same as a completed pattern. One shouldn't normally jump the gun.It may seem hard to believe, but if the H&S pattern breaks beneath its neckline, the target zone is that area wayyyyy down in blue. johnyholiday
Johnny, how long have you been doing this? Are you trading stocks, options or futures? What kind of return can someone expect from such trading? Is there any study correlating the angle of an ascent with the odds of a correction (what goes up fast, must come down quicker)? Sorry, on the first three questions ,might be a conflict of interest there, with these people{pic} an their portfolio holdings.Last question ,anything that goes into a parabolic curve, is suspect, after a parabolic curve, an subsequent correction, the chart{data points} will lay dormant for long periods of time ,old Wallstreet adage"The trend is your friend until it bends"

johnyholiday
Head an Shoulders formation ,a recent favorite $XAU (Gold & Silver index). This is similar to the Oil Service Sector (beaten to death this week, so shan't be showing that chart again), except that the head and shoulder is still in formation. (As for OIH, it sneaked beneath its neckline today). picture insert, is of a homosapiens, fibonacci ratio-Head an Shoulders, go figure...gold figure...go figure.... ~all disclaimer apply~
