JBRichter
I'm getting Comcast HD on 11/27. It will be hooked up through component video to my Sony HS51 projector. I've seen this projector with an HD dish signal (don't know which one) and it looked awesome. I'm also going to use the optical audio connection. Anybody out there have the Comcast HD hooked up to their projector and audio system? How does it look and sound to you? JBR

toddvj
I switched to cable about a month ago, and picture and sound are every bit as good, if not better than, DirecTV. I have never used Dish Network. Only issue I have is that the DVR isn't as nice as the TiVo that I had w/DirecTV.
IndyKlipschFan
Contrary to what some say... You can, and will, get 720P or 1080i out of the component cable...and it looks fantastic,... The optical out is the ONLY way to get Dolby Digital 5.1 signals... and again is amazing.. Get the one with the Hard drive.. or a TIVO... Home Run.. picky
We've had our Comcast HD for 2 years and we love it. Indy is correct about each item he remarked on. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we have. The picture is just like looking out a window!
KungFuNat
i just got comcast HD for my brand new 60" sony HDTV... so far the image has been pretty good, but i believe the output is limited to 1080i. ive never seen my TV report 720p input from my cable box. image quality also depends on the channel. today the pats game on CBS i believe looked great, but the buffalo game looked a bit fuzzy. either way, im happy but there are only maybe 15 channels of HD. Ok, the cable box isn't going to choose its own resolution, that is up to the user. I have mine set to output 1080i all the time (even on analog channels). JBRichter
Well, after 2 days of watching HD, I'm convinced. I going to keep it. It truely is quite the improvement. Thanks everyone for your input. JBR
