dubai2000
KAIN64, go to the SVS homepage and you'll find all the info you need. http://www.svsubwoofers.com Hope that helps. Wolfram BTW: How is Dubai? I used to work there about 7 years ago and I can't recall any Klipsch dealer.
Kain
Dubai is nice. I just moved here one year ago. BTW, click on the Dealer Locator and you will see United Arab Emirates listed there. ------------------ Home Theater (getting soon): TV: Sony KV-ES34M80 (34" FD Trinitron WEGA) DVD Player: Toshiba SD-5200 VCR: Sony SLV-ED100 (Hi-Fi VCR) Receiver: Yamaha RX-V3000 or Denon AVR-4802 Speakers - Center: Klipsch RC-7 Mains: Klipsch RF-7 Surrounds: Klipsch RS-7 Subwoofer: SVS CS-Ultra w/Samson S1000 amplifier
Kain
Oh my, I just checked the SVS homepage and found out that the cost of ONE SVS SS is $5000. I think I'll stick to the SVS CS-Ultras. ------------------ Home Theater (getting soon): TV: Sony KV-ES34M80 (34" FD Trinitron WEGA) DVD Player: Toshiba SD-5200 VCR: Sony SLV-ED100 (Hi-Fi VCR) Receiver: Yamaha RX-V3000 or Denon AVR-4802 Speakers - Center: Klipsch RC-7 Mains: Klipsch RF-7 Surrounds: Klipsch RS-7 Subwoofer: SVS CS-Ultra w/Samson S1000 amplifier
TVodhanel
I'm not sure how the website is worded, but our $5000 estimate was based on dual enclosures...with your choice of wood finishing,a Crown K1 amp,and I believe a 5 band parametric EQ. We've run into one problem after another with the finish on the SS though...so it will be a little while before they are ready. On a sheer cost/performance basis...the CS_U/S1000 is the way to go...no doubt. TV
Kain
Oh okay. Can you then please tell me the price of ONE SVS SS w/Crown K-1 amp? ------------------ Home Theater (getting soon): TV: Sony KV-ES34M80 (34" FD Trinitron WEGA) DVD Player: Toshiba SD-5200 VCR: Sony SLV-ED100 (Hi-Fi VCR) Receiver: Yamaha RX-V3000 or Denon AVR-4802 Speakers - Center: Klipsch RC-7 Mains: Klipsch RF-7 Surrounds: Klipsch RS-7 Subwoofer: SVS CS-Ultra w/Samson S1000 amplifier
TheEAR
Good news Mr.TV ,the SVS SS could be a killer sub system. The SVS Ultra ranks among the very finest and most powerful subs on the market(I tried so many). TVodhanel how do you compare the Crown K-1 to the Crown Macro Reference? If price was not an object you would chose K-1 or MR?And why. Thank you TheEAR(s) Now theears

TheEAR
TVodhanel about the SS line. Will these subs use larger drivers(15")or more 12" drivers?I heard several times about the SS line finish, how about the drivers used? TVodhanel
the SS will use the current CS_Ultra drivers with a projected(we're are in intense developement right now)30% increase in linear excursion capabilities. Since the CS_U drivers are unparalleled(afaik) in their current xmax(linear excursion one way)performance with about 20mm...we're somewhat excited about being able to push the envelope so much further. TheEAR
Thanks for the answer TV.30% increase in linear excursion is very impressive when you consider the performance of the Ultra now! With these new subs SVS should surpass any competition below 10 grand. With ease. Just keep one thing TV,make more passive units and let the audiophiles drive these beauties with their choice of potent amps. I love the idea of passive subs, you add a Bryston 14B-ST power amp(drool). Then the SVS SS would be the ultimate sub.
