michael hurd
Good, maybe you can convince the board to sell those POS speakers you took down on E-bay for 1/2 new price, as a BIN. That should net $ 4705 before the e-bay listing fees etc. Ought to be enough to get a REAL klipsch subwoofer, and a spare amplifier.
michael hurd
Colter, 2 x 6" if you didn't see the above, about the same displacement ability as a single 8", they have accordian surrounds. In other words, a little bigger version of the RB-75 would kick their hiney in terms of SQ, but probably don't match the efficiency either. cyclonecj
Bill... The theater is only 5 years old, so the wiring is all up to date. Equipment wise, everything is good, it was just those speakers (or whatever they were) that had to go. This morning, we have had a parade of people marching through for a listen. Everyone has been stunned at the sound, & word seems to be spreading real fast......Just from this morning, at least 7 more people now know the name Klipsch. Just wait until we put up the surrounds!!! []
Tom Adams
Nice work cj on converting the theater. Just curious.....but why did you choose to "lay the speaker down" versus flying it upside down (woofer up, tweeter down)? Tom
cyclonecj
If you go back & look at the original pics, you will see that the speakers are mounted vertical, so they could not be pointed down at all. This faces them straight into the catwalk. By mounting them horizontal, they are now pointed down straight into the audience. Later, I will go up on the catwalk & get some closer pics. We are having trouble getting the surrounds in. One side of the theater has the conduits all screwed up. We are now searching for other options.
