Jeff Matthews
What is the best 7.1 receiver you can probably find used for around $500?
dougdrake
From a quick look on Ebay completed auctions (searching with "7.1 home theater receiver" as the key words (without the quotes)), I see several Denon 2805 and HK AVR 340 and 635 receivers that sold in that range. I don't know how good they are, but Denon builds a pretty good product overall...
Zen Traveler
If you can find a used Denon AVR-3803 I don't think you will be disappointed. I have mine running a 5.1 Legend setup in a 1600 sq. ft room and it sounds sweet. I picked it up a couple of years ago when it was discontinued for under $800 NIB. $500 on EBAY sounds doable. Arky
Jeff harmanaudio.com frequently has mid to high end avr's listed for around $500 with warranty and 30 day return policy. Supposed to be high current. JT
