formica
I really like that firey look, formica....what do they call that kind of finish? I'd love to tell you it's an exotic custom finish but it's just Minwax polyurethane gloss varnish (many wet sanded coats), over Minwax 215 stain, over Minwax sealer. The wood, BTW, is the original Birch plywood. I had matching 4.1 heritage system with pretty good WAF, till I swapped out the Cornwalls. 3dzapper
Both the Khorn and the Heresy were originally raw birch.
m00n
m00n, If I remember, you are fairly savvy with computers. If you decide the labels are important, scan/photo them and print new labels for your veneered backs. Good luck with the project! Chris Actually... I think I've found an easy solution. I will simply turn the backs around. I'll put the label side in. This way the label never gets hidden or distroyed for the purest in case I ever decide to seel them. Then I will veneer what was on the inside. Problem solved. []

m00n
Greg, those are stunning. I love the color. I want something rich like that myself but because we have just standard red oak, wife wants me to stick with that color. Or, I have to redo everything to match that. Hmmmmmmmmm......
