eBay's latest effort to raise final bid amounts (and their revenue)

Recommended Posts

I call them as I see them, can you look me in the eye and say that a person offering people $300 for their La Scala's and $1000 for their Klipschorn's is not cheap???

I will be the first to step up to the plate and say that I am cheap, it is only a word! Get over it. I want deals like everyone else but you must be realistic, and not take advantage of people's lack of knowledge or naivity when it comes to purchasing speakers from them.

The scenario you presented is not what I am talking about.

And if you must know I will post what I paid for my speakers prior to updates and upgrades:

'88 Klipschorn's - $1250 ( I was offered '88 Khorn's, '67 Khorn's and '78 La Scala's for $2100, I shared the other pair of Klipschorn's with a forum member who got them for $1000, I came back for the La Scala's)

'77 Klipschorn's - $1375

'78 Belle Klipsch - $1750

'78 La Scala (single) - $300

Show up at my house with a big truck and $7250 and you can haul them all away, all updates and upgrades included.

There are you happy now!

What you paid is your business, and I didn't ask for prices. No, I'm not happy! I can look you in the eye and say, "I'm not Cheap". If it's on E-bay and the bid is $300.,I bid $350, and so do you. Who do you think your kidding, come on Guy.Why didn't you pay more than you did; WHY because you didn't have to.NO ONE wants to pay more than they have to. If I had $7250. to spend on speakers I'd buy NEW. Your a lucky guy to own all that great stuff, and look what you did pay, so why get pissed at me? Did I try to buy your equipment to cheap,NO. Did I degrade your set-up,NO. Trying to get the best deal is not cheap, getting Khorns for $1000. is lucky. It's up to the SELLER what price they take in the end, not you. Relax, and keep your speakers, and realise how lucky you are to own such great stuff.

I don't get it..why are some of you mad that belles sold for $2700?? How much would a new pair cost (if they made them)?? Certainly they would cost more than $2700..... right? Not many speakers have the aura and looks of Klipsch, thats part of it too, let alone not having to spend much $$$$ on high powered amps.
