thepathlesstaken
Leo Kottke - Peculiaroso / Acoustic Guitar (Blues / Jazz) / CD This is my first exposure to Leo Kottke and it is a positive one. Reasonable recording that conveys the warm and thick sounds of an acoustic guitar. Listen to a few tracks here - Peg Leg is one of my favorites http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000000LC/102-5136649-6382566?v=glance&n=5174

oldtimer
For something completely different try The Steeleye Span Story--Original Masters(2lp set). Old English, Irish and Scottish folk tunes set to rock. The track Fighting for Strangers is especially compelling.
pmsummer
Little Feat Self-titled debut. WB/WEA CD Rock/rockabilly/blues/country Quite simply a masterpiece, and maybe a genre breaker/maker.
Steve_L
Just ordered Delbert McClinton cause you guys say so. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy him. That's what's great about this place. Sometimes you just miss really good stuff due to the ocean of stuff that's out there. My son loves classic rock, and he'll sometimes say to me, "didn't you know this guy Dad, back in the 60s"? I find myself explaining that there was just soooo much coming out every week and month that was so good that a poor boy like me just couldn't buy it all. I'd maybe know the name, but not buy the album... We'ld save up our hard earned cash and drive into Boston, down to Harvard Square and go to the Harvard Co-op. (coop) and buy 5 or 6 or more albums.. but that was a weeks pay for me back then! Having the internet and you guys sure makes it easier to find the good stuff. I'm still buying stuff I missed back then.
