Speedball
The following link is of an amp called Moscode. The seller brags about how he can run a 110v drill and blender without any problems. So can any tube amp do the same thing? I've heard most any tube amp produces high voltage. Quite an "industria"l looking amp to say the least. Does anyone know anything or have any experience with them? ...............curious. http://pic6.audiogon.com/i/c/f/1149556021.jpg
Trooper
If I remember correctly, and the picture seems to prove it, that amp has a tube front end and MOSFET outputs (that's what's on the tunnel heatsink with fan in the middle ofthe chassis). So it's not your typical tube amp when it come to output current.
Speedball
So if i understand you correctly it is one of those hybrid amps with a tube and solid state combination. ......Mmmm, that's different.
capo72
Don't know anything about the amp. Just wanted to say, I think you change your avatar more often then I change underwear. [] Jeremy

Speedball
Yea Jeremy, I just went on a new avatar hunt.......[] Today I picked up my first issue of Stereophile, there just happens to be an article in there about the Moscode and a big write up on an Eico. Thanks for the link.........
djk
The heatsink tunnel, fan, and outputs are exactly the same as in a Hafler DH500. It just has tubes for the voltage gain stages. It puts out the same amount of power as a Hafler DH500. That one is a very early style Moscode 600, later on they looked like a regular amp. It is very colored sounding in a pleasing way, big in the bass, a dip in the 3~5Khz region. They were designed by George Kaye, he still services them. You can send an old Hafler to George and he will convert it for you.
