colterphoto1
Are you kidding Greg? LOL! Michaels wall of Klipsch looks like a Van Halen concert setup. Minus all the hot groupies! It was 6' tall at the LSI's and 23' wide I believe. That is a TON of LP's there! WOW! Michael
jbsl
Travis a Ikea is being built way up in Gorgetown, only 30-45 minute drive from your house. Should be ready late this year.
edwinr
That's an impressive wall of records, charlieboy.
colterphoto1
Some of that IKEA stuff is very heavy, being made of particle board. Check weights- a friend of mine went to Chicago store and ended up renting a UHaul trailer to bring it all home- the truck couldn't take the weight! So just be ready if you go after a pile of shelving materials and check the total weight of your planned purchases (btw, you can't get out of there with 'just what you came for', uh uh, no way)
colterphoto1
Uh Charlie, isn't it kind of hard to use that Turntable way up high like that? And where's the tv man?
colterphoto1
lol, Colter has a pretty big wall of vinyl too...maybe 1/4th of this one - not sure if you would include that in the "wall o klipsch" or not. He's also got another wall full of CD's as well - which should hold a lot more per cubic foot. I totally dig the guys with a huge music collection - shows they're investing into the more important parts of their systems. (I am very ashamed of my music collection). Here's my pitiful little collection. I built the shelving unit myself from 3/4 ply and 1x2 poplar for the edges, which adds a lot of strength. It is exactly LP depth, and the top shelves are adjustable- used to house my library of books, which grew to be a wall of it's own also. Who- just get a CD every week or so. Get sales, buy used, you'd be amazed how quick it adds up. Do you guys remember 'cutouts'? Michael
johnyholiday
Woohoho, did you spin your old listening room around 180 degrees, are the Corns an Khorns gone
charlieboy
Yeah I spun my wall of records around 180 from the rear of the room to the front after adding the 3rd shelf wich was my goal all along. Sadly the Khorns are gone as well as the Cornwalls. You have a good memory. On the bright side I hope this summer like i said to start a custom project based on some altec 511b's and some sort of bass bins and it all will be bi-amped with tubes.[]
