PhilMays
I am sending my crossovers to DeanG today! He is going to do my RF-7's and RC-7!!!! I have removed them form my speakers and was shocked at the lack of foam material inside. While these are out, if anything, should I do that will help these speakers? Thanks Phil
Guest " "
The insulation, when used, normally need only to go on either the top or bottom, either the left or right side, and on the back. So basiclly 3 of the 6 sides. Depending on the shape of the cab, it is possible to use less.
Deang
Phil, some speakers don't use any insulation/batting, and a few of them cost more than a quad of Klipschorns. Just make sure the foam isn't covering the ports.
homemadeheresy
I was under the assumption that any speakers with parallel sides could benefit from insulation, or acoustic dampening material of some kind. Correct me if I'm wrong.
PhilMays
Hi Dean. I believe you will get my crossovers on Thursday via UPS! Thanks!!! Check and letter for return address is taped to the innerbox! So, I need not worry about the small amount of insolation....Anything else I could do while these are apart? JJkizak
In my opinion something like insulation which theoretically cannot deteriorate over time I would not mess with it. But then again maybe it does deteriorate. The stuff in my Corwall seemed to be asphalt based and there was none in the k-horns. Maybe sprayed on ureathane foam would be the ticket nowadays.
