thewolf
Just bought a pair of '86 Cornwalls and will be picking them up in a couple of days. Is there any issues with laying the speakers on their side for transportation? Or, do they have to stand upright for the ride home?
Moderators dtel's wife Posted August 14, 2006 Moderators Share Posted August 14, 2006 We brought our new Cornwall III's all the home from Hope, AR on thier sides. They were boxed, not that would make a difference other than protecting the finish. Our Cornwall III's seem to be in perfect working order, even after riding eight hours on thier sides!! Good luck and enjoy. Be sure to post again and let us know once you have them. Christy
jcmusic
It is better advised to lay them face down, that way the woofers will be facing the same way as the screws. No stress on them. jay
Moderators dtel's wife Posted August 14, 2006 Moderators Share Posted August 14, 2006 Hey wolf, If you haven't done so already, go to the "2 channel section, New Cornwall III's are in the house," and scroll through the posts. You will find a link to the building process of Cornwall III's. I think you may find it interesting.
thewolf
This makes sense. Hopefully I can lay them flat and stack them.

colterphoto1
They don't care which way they are faced for transport. I'd put clean packing blanket down first, and put them face to face with something in between them to avoid scratching. BE CAREFUL of the phenolic terminal block on the back, they are brittle and will crack if you lay the cabinets on their backs. The block can also tear the grille cloth or scratch the veneer if a cabinet back comes into contact with any other face. COngrats and have a save trip.
