Crazy Horn
I have a pair of what are supposed to be Heresy Crossover's, Type E-2. I am new at the speaker stuff and just learning so stay with me if I sound goofy. I think I have added pictures for you to look at? Looking at the wiring down to the tweeter it looks like negative is a jumper wire going from negative to negative. Red # on front of crossover being + and black being negative until it gets to the tweeter. At the tweeter the negative jumper wire connects to the red# instead of the black. It looks like the posiitve and negative are switched. Someone please help. Confused

BEC
The tweeter polarity should be opposite compared to the squawker and woofer on the E2 crossover. Bob Crites
Groomlakearea51
Correct on positive from the amp to "red" on the terminal/binding post which then goes to the "red" input screw on the distribution block, and black to black, and so on. It's a polarity thing regarding the tweeter, and Bob Crites can explain it much better that I can.
BEC
I would normally just post a crossover schematic, but the E2 is one of the few I don't have a schematic for. I don't think I have ever seen a schematic for the E2. Anyone else ever seen the E2 schematic? Bob Crites
Deang
Anyone else ever seen the E2 schematic? Nope. On the Type E, polarity is reversed for the both the squawker and the tweeter. The Type E2 isn't like that? E2 has 33uF in parallel with the woofer.
BEC
Dean, On the ones I have to look at, only the tweeter is reversed for the E2. Yes, the E has both tweeter and squawker reversed compared to the woofer. Bob
BEC
Ok, guess I have said for long enough that I don't have the E2 schematic. Now I have one. Bob Crites
Bill Hausmann
Just for curiosity sake, what is the purpose of the 33uf across the LF driver? Thanks..... -Bill
BEC
The woofer cap and inductor set the high frequency roll-off of the woofer rather than just letting it go up to the point where it rolls off for mechanical reasons. Deang
Rolls the response at 12dB/octave instead of 6dB/octave. Bob, does the Type AL use barrier strips, or are the driver leads soldered to the networks.
BEC
All ALs use barrier strips. All AKs use the silly solder on wherever you want method. Bob Crites
