hondajake
What was the design goal of each? I am new to Klipsch and Best Buy got me started by listening to them in thier store, however, I went to my local hi-fi shoppe and bought a pair of Rf-25 being disconitued. ibanezhater
Selling cheap, Chinese made speakers at Best Buy may have saved the Klipsch company financially. It hurt the company's reputation, and rightfully so. Also, selling plastic computer and iPod speakers didn't help. The Reference Series are a different breed. Higher end, made in USA (?), etc.
MD1032
Yup, basically that's it. Klipsch designs them, Chinese make them. Listening to my B3's right now as we speak. They're not bad at all, and they're a tremendous value for the money.
oldtimer
Hey, they are only little chinese 12 year olds, cut them some slack....
hondajake
That was a way to get them more recongition. I guess even now Audioquest is sold at BB... Mass market seems to rule....
33klfan
Yeah, mass market seems to be a degrading thing now a days and since the early 80's. When stuff went mass market in early 80's, that's when pioneer, marantz, and all the other good companies went downhill. Not all companies went down, but quality decreased, and quantity increased. A sad time in audio. BTW, reference speakers are made in china too. Definately props on the rf-25. I only deal with private shops anymore. BB is terrible. Higher end, made in USA (?), etc. only the rf-63 and 83 are made in america and their counterparts to some degree (the rf83 series etc) and the heritage, everything else is built in china. hondajake
The RF-25's prove to be a great speaker! We love them, as in my Wife and I! Great WAF! Local Hi-fi because I like supporting the locals...
