erickoegle
The DTS intro for Saving Pvt. Ryan is pretty sweet.
TheKillerTomato
If you want another good source for a subwoofer test, go to the Danley Labs website and download the Fireworks recording, there is content down to DC on it. About 3 minutes and 20 seconds in there is a big burst of low frequency energy..... beware as most subs will not take it at all.... especially ported ones, unless they have a high pass in which case they should not bottom out. It is a .zip file that is 25 megs, before unpacking. You must have high speed and winRAR to unpack it, at that point you can burn it to a CD. Beware that it features a dynamic range of 70 DB, and is very quiet until the big bangs occur. There is a warning at the site as well...[] The sales staff at Magnolia Home Theater will LOVE this demo!
michael hurd
I know I do..... Even though I have only heard it on my Sennheiser headphones.... I have not burned it to CD yet. I can't wait to hear this on my speakers once I get my killer sub built.
Cwwrig
The RW-12d is a new(ish) model and replaced the RW-12 adding digital control and a few other nice features. It should be noted that the other subs you mention are larger in internal volume and it gets easier to offer performance as the cabinet size increases. The market today is very strong for small subs and we are always trying to keep our subs as small as possible while offering performance that we believe will make people happy. However, we understand that some people are not bothered by large cabinets. There are lots of subs that choose a different formula for success than we choose. If you want a sub with higher performance from Klipsch, try the RSW-10d or one of our RT subs. I received my VTF3.2 yesterday, and I now understand what this guy was talking about. The size of this sub would make the average person at CC fall over.

Well the tiny Paradigm next to it is no titan, the HSU is a descent size sub.Very good subwoofer, cannot go wrong with the VTF3 series. mathesar
I felt the same way when recieving my HSU VTF 3 MK3 with Turbo ..it looks like something Tim Allen would design and made my RW-12d look pretty darn small , Awesome performance and great extension, I havent heard a hint of port noise either [Y]
Jay481985
mathesar, don't take this personally but that subwoofer looks silly, like the muscle car with the intake butterflies on top of the hood!
Cwwrig
My HSU was next to a PSW50 (the first sub I ever bought). I am happy with the HSU. The turbo looks awesome, pay no mind to the previous comment .
darkside
One company that many people overlook when it comes to subs is Earthquake sound. I picked up my MK-IV 10 off ebay BNIB for 374.99 shipped. It is awesome. It plays 16hz and lower no problems with good SPL. And its the smallest sub (other than the Thor) that Earthquake has made. I would love to see how the new MKVIs do, especially with the room correction...

darkside
Yes, the Supernovas are still passive radiated. though a sealed version of the supernova MKV can be bought
