NastyHabits
Greetings all. I've finally started back down the road to surround sound heaven you all helped me get into several years ago. I just picked up a Rotel RSP-976 surround processor and Rotel RB-976 6 channel amplifer. (This was what I had picked out 6 years ago, 2 short days before I got outsourced.[:'(] ) Still a worthy addition to my current system: Klipsch Heresy Front channel speakersKlipsch Heresy Rear channel speakersKlipsch KSP-C6 Center ChannelVelodyne SPL SubwooferPanasonic 34" Direct View HDTVRotel RB-976 6 Channel Amplifier (bridged for fronts and center)Yamaha MX-2 Stereo AmplifierRotel RSP-976 Surround ProcessorPanasonic DVD A-7 PlayerMonster Power HTS 5000 Power CenterHomebuilt PC integrated with system. With my recent additions, all I can say is "wow". Now, I realize that my humble system can barely hold a candle to what many of you have. Still, I live in New York City in a small apartment with my gear. Oh, and I'm single. So I get to play and/or watch what and how and when I want. (Ok, I have neighbors, but today I have off, and nobody else is home, so I'm cranking it!) Anyway, after months of mega-overtime, I finally can let the moths out of the wallet and fix the weak spot in my system, the center channel. Anybody have a old Heresy lying around gathering dust? Give me a shout,... please. Thanks

westcott
Heresys were some of the first Klipsch speakers I ever heard and made a lasting impression on me! One of my best friends owns a pair but I doubt you could pay him enough to give them up, and I don't blame him. They are incredible speakers and still outperform many speakers their size today, IMO. Good Luck finding a center speaker and I will keep my eyes peeled for ya! Welcome back.
NastyHabits
NastyHabits.........Do you take tea at three?......and a Subaru to boot......very interested in your Heresy home theatre, have considered that option my self............Are you happy with your choice?....Welcome Back................. Glad someone picked up my nick's cultural origin. The WRX is a nod to my second-childhood. (Like Klipsch Heritage series, it routinely embarrases more expensive cars. I eat BMW's for lunch.) The Heresy home theater came about because I had two I bought back in the '70's. Always loved Klipsch speakers: dreamed of K-horns, wanted Cornwalls, but bought my Heresy's for $600 on sale. (This was back when $600 was a lot of money). Flash forward 25 years, I buy a 16:9 HD TV and I gotta go surround sound. I'm cruising through the Klipsch catalog trying to decide which surround speakers to buy, when someone on this board tells me about a woman who had a pair for sale for $250. Best of all, she's in Brooklyn. I call her. She doesn't want these "big, old, wood things that don't go with anything". Feng shui in Brooklyn, who'd a thunk it. My system is just about perfect for a small space. The sound is awesome. It's especially impressive when there's something good on either PBS-HD or Discovery Channel HD. For demo purposes I use the music on the opening credits of "Blow" (a Rolling Stones song of course!). You feel like you can take a walk through the band. It's amazing. With a better center channel, my system will be "perfect".
