tommyboy
Do receivers or dvd players require a break in time? My receiver is about 5 months old, and my dvd player is about 3 months old. The wife and I watched Persuit of Happiness and Memoirs of a Gesiah tonight. Right from the get go, they sounded REALLY good. A big difference from the last few movies we've watched. I haven't changed anything, (settings). I don't know how to explain it, but I know the sound definitely drastically improved over night. Anyway, can it really take that long for components to 'break in"??
tommyboy
I forgot to mention that I also put in other movies just to make sure it wasn't just those 2 DVD's. They all sounded a lot better than before.
Zen Traveler
I have never heard that they do--Maybe the Karma was just right tonight. [Y]
DrWho
There are many factors that can affect sound quality that can change on a daily basis...like humidity, the wall voltage, your own mood, etc... I wouldn't attribute it to a "break in" period.

wuzzzer
It might be your ears getting used to the setup.
