klipsch_dan
Hi All, Please rate my new system I bought as a turn-key deal for $500.00. KLF-20's KSF-C5 KSF-S5 Yamaha RX-V992 Receiver Infinity BU-2 Sub Only problem are the speakers seem to have loose motor boards and backs, and one of the speakers has the two dust caps off the woofers. Are these common problems?
Daddy Dee
I'd say you got a real good deal. It won't take too much to replace the dust caps and and tighten things up.
michael hurd
Pretty darned good! I can give you suggestions for adhesives, some use PL constuction adhesives, I have used these, but prefer a different product with that sort of situation. I would recommend a SIKA-Flex urethane adhesive / sealant. I have heard the BU series Infinity subs, with dual passives. They crank pretty good. klipsch_dan
Can the sika-flex be put in without removing the motor board? I am worried that the little bit of glue remaining will bring a large chunk of the cabinet with it. Dan
Moderators dtel's wife Posted May 21, 2007 Moderators Share Posted May 21, 2007 Congratulations on your new set up. You are going to love it. It doesn't seem like a lot of work for what you paid. BTW, welcome to the forum.
colterphoto1
Dan, call me at work regarding the KLF cabinet situation. We have an approved method for repairing the cabinets, probably photos and step by step instructions also. Michael

That would be nice, then we would know where to find you if we ever get to your "neck of the woods".

dp1954
The 20's alone are definitely worth what you paid. I have owned 2 pairs of them and they are excellent speakers......... Great for R&R.. dave
klipsch_dan
That's great that I got a good deal, I feel even better after all the nice posts. Michael sent me information on how to fix the baffle issue which I will be doing this weekend. Also, I have ordered replacement dust caps for the missing ones on the woofers. Does it help these out to solder the wires directly to the drivers?
