RickyB
I'm thinking of using Heresy III's in a new house I'm moving into. The room is 20'x12', with ceilings that vault beginning at 8' up to 11'. Anything near on-axis listening in this room will be impossible, so my plan is to put them in the corners of the long wall (for placement convenience and bass) and perhaps listen in mono. I realize any kind of imaging is out of the question here. My goal is to fill the room with good sound. Can Heresys do that, or are they too small? Klipschorns and La Sacalas won't fit (can't afford them anyway), and I doubt if I have room for Cornwalls either. Would Heresys be up to the job? Thanks! ricktate
Yes Hereys could do that so can RB35s or what ever the new line is numbered.Heresys are not small to most people.Just looked RB61 they have front port so you may want to look at those to.Rick
ricktate
Why listen in mono? Rick
RickyB
I just don't think stereo would sound that good in there, though I could be wrong. The speakers would be so far apart that there would probably be a big hole in the stereo image. Also all chairs would be so far off-axis that I'd be hearing one channel more than another wherever I'd sit. The location of various windows, doors, fireplace, etc. makes it impossible to place a couch or chair right between the speakers. At least in mono I'd hear everything. But I won't know for sure until I get things set up in there.
oldbuckster
Don't under-estimate the Heresy's because of their size.....................Fine Speakers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Daddy Dee
I think Heresy will do fine in this room. The mono/stereo question is interesting. No harm to try it out each way to see what you prefer.

Islander
I can't speak for Heresies, but most Heritage speakers seem to have much less of an issue with a "hole in the middle" due to wide speaker spacing. The Klipsch speaker manual is the first one I've seen that recommends placing speakers along the long wall of a room. Try them and see what you think. Jay481985
I have reference series 83 in a 10X15 room that was concrete, they imaged suprisingly well on either the 15 or the 10 foot side.
