rplace
I was driving around yesterday evening and I stumbled upon this station during the right time. Great music top to bottom. I decided to check out the web site. I would be curious as to how many of these you own. http://www.desertislandjazz.net/60discs.html I would not be surprised if you own them all. I only have about a dozen of them. Also check out the play list from last night. http://www.desertislandjazz.net/playlists.html Do you see a bad on in the bunch? It really was a great find. Tarheel
Sounds like a great station.....wish it was around here. Own several on the list. Did not see a single Sonny Rollins selection on either list[]
rplace
Sounds like a great station.....wish it was around here. I was all excited that I had found a great station, but they only spin jazz on Tuesdays and Saturdays for a few hours each time. Still I found the first link interesting. Choose only five (5) if you will be stranded on a desert island. http://www.desertislandjazz.net/60discs.html I would have to go with: Meets The Rhythm Section Art Pepper Somethin' Else Cannonball Adderley Time Out Dave Brubeck Quartet Song For My Father Horace Silver Quintet The Sidewinder Lee Morgan

Sirius has a great jazz station so I rarely, if ever, listen to the radio anymore. Thanks for the info though. As far as desert island jazz LPs, that's just too tough. Off the top of my head: Grant Green, Idle Moments Duke Pearson, Wahoo Curtis Fuller w/Benny Golson, Bluesette The next 2 might both be Art Pepper LPs. Probably Meets The Rhythm Section and + Eleven. Really tough to choose though.

Allan Songer
Odd list, really. I have about 90% of these albums, but I have to say I there aren't alot of "top 60" recordings here for me. But if I have to pick five from that list: Meets The Rhythm Section Art Pepper A Love Supreme John Coltrane Complete Quartets with Sonny Clark Grant Green The Sermon Jimmy Smith Blue Train John Coltrane
